Job summary

Northwest Bank is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager to monitor the bank's commercial loan portfolio, ensuring timely risk ratings and compliance with policy and regulations. The role supports Relationship Managers and internal teams, with construction loan experience preferred.

The position is onsite Monday-Thursday with Fridays optional remote work, offering a salary range of $61,500–$110,000 annually plus bonus opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline preferred.
• Experience in Commercial Lending as Portfolio Manager/Relationship Manager/Underwriter preferred.
• Experience in Commercial Credit or public accounting preferred.
• Ability to perform financial analysis, assess risk and administer construction loans, extensive.
• Strong analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills, extensive.
• Team-oriented with ability to monitor and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, extensive.
• Credit risk analysis including assessment of financial statements, collateral valuation, industry review, and risk rating assignments, extensive.

Responsibilities

• Monitor credit performance of commercial borrowers ensuring timely escalation or remediation.
• Ensure timely reporting of portfolio monitoring activities and adherence to credit policies and thresholds.
• Engage with customers to discuss operating performance and covenant compliance.
• Collect and review financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, appraisals, and internal credit information.
• Spread financial statements and prepare financial models to assess default risk and loss given default.
• Analyze information to support prudent ongoing credit monitoring and risk rating assignments.
• Assist in annual reviews, renewals, interim memos, covenant calculations and criticized asset reviews.
• Present analysis during credit discussions or presentations.
• Coordinate with Commercial Banking Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, and Underwriting to document approvals.
• Document and track key risk indicators and thresholds.
• Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and regulations.
• Navigate MS Office and department software; work as part of a team.
