Our client, a nationally recognized AmLaw 100 law firm, seeks a mid-level Associate Attorney for its Business & Commercial Disputes Practice Group in Charlotte, NC. Hybrid work arrangement with substantial responsibility and direct client interaction on complex matters across diverse industries.

The ideal candidate has a JD from a top-tier law school, NC bar admission (or ability to procure promptly), and 3–5 years of commercial litigation experience, including discovery management and motions.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in North Carolina, in good standing (or ability to become admitted promptly).
• 3-5 years substantive experience in commercial litigation.
• Experience managing complex business disputes at a sophisticated law firm.
• Capable of litigating in state and federal courts from inception through resolution.
• Experience drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Capable of managing all phases of discovery, including e-discovery coordination.
• Restructuring, insolvency, or bankruptcy litigation experience is a plus.
• Superior analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsabilités

• Handle substantive work on complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts from inception through resolution.
• Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Manage key aspects of discovery including e-discovery coordination and motions.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Support trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit management.
• Analyze litigation risks, dispute exposure, and business implications to develop practical legal solutions.
• Communicate directly with clients and in-house counsel.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, staff, and cross-office teams to provide client service.
• Contribute to case strategy development and execution throughout all stages of litigation.
