Job summary

Jefferson County Assessor’s Office is seeking a Commercial Appraiser to join the team. The role develops valuation models, inspects properties, and prepares narrative reports for ad valorem taxation, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and client service.

The ideal candidate holds a Certified General Appraisal License or is nearing licensure, has experience writing appraisal reports, and thrives in a collaborative environment that engages with the public and county partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field demonstrating ability to analyze and present information, orally and in writing.
• At least three (3) years of work-related experience in appraisal or related field.
• Certified General Appraisal License preferred; licensure near completion considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead appraiser for a property type (retail, multi-family, office, etc.).
• Review valuation aspects and recommend corrections when needed.
• Maintain market knowledge and develop appraisal models for valuation.
• Perform field investigations and complex commercial/multi-family appraisals.
• Represent the Office in appeal hearings with stakeholders.
