Job summary

Weld County Assessor’s Office seeks a Commercial/Industrial Real Property Appraiser to work on valuation for ad valorem taxation. You will inspect properties, enter data, and apply mass appraisal methodologies within deadlines.

Responsibilities include communicating with taxpayers, preparing reports, and supporting appeals processes. A candidate with 3 years of relevant appraisal experience and Excel/Word skills is preferred; hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; appraisal experience preferred
• 1 year experience with Excel and Word
• Bachelor’s degree and 1 year experience in appraisal/real estate or related field preferred
• 3 years appraisal experience in commercial/industrial property for ad valorem taxation preferred or equivalent education/experience

Responsibilities

• Data Collection - collect inventory of property characteristics and enter data into the Assessor’s system
• Valuation of Property - value and maintain vacant and commercial/industrial properties; review market trends and reports
• Property Appeals - interview taxpayers and prepare appraisals for hearings
• Special Projects - complete projects to ensure data accuracy for listing and valuing property
• Communication - explain the taxation process and maintain relationships with taxpayers and professionals
