Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to join the IT - Development team in Denver. The role focuses on Python and .NET/C# development, APIs, and cloud-based solutions, within a hybrid office setup and agile environment.

You will work with contract and offshore engineers, contribute to design, implement end-to-end solutions, and help optimize ETL and data integration tasks using modern frameworks and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering, or related field.
• 1+ year of professional software development experience using Python, .NET/C# or similar language.
• Knowledge of Python, .NET/C#, Java, OOD, OOP and database design concepts.
• Understanding of NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Experience with AWS cloud services and related tools.
• Experience with build/deploy tools (Visual Studio, Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus).
• Experience with distributed computing and integration frameworks (APIs, REST, Swagger, Kafka).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development staff and product owners in an agile environment.
• Design and analyze deliverables and contribute to end-to-end solutions.
• Develop and maintain Python-based applications and APIs.
• Support production operations with root cause analysis and optimization.
• Participate in deployment, testing, and documentation activities.
• Learn and adopt new technologies to support projects.
