Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, invites applications for a senior cloud security architect. The role designs, implements, and operationalizes security across Azure, AWS, and GCP, ensuring compliant, secure cloud deployments.

You will partner with Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, and Compliance to enforce policies, run threat modeling, and advance the organization’s security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 5 years designing and securing cloud solutions across two platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) with 2 years in an architect role.
• CISSP or cloud security certifications (CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer) upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure cloud architecture standards for Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, DevOps to ensure secure designs.
• Integrate security into solution architectures and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Align cloud security initiatives with regulatory requirements and leadership goals.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for cloud deployments.
• Enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Evaluate CSPM, CNAPP, CASB, IAM tools with technical teams.
• Manage CSPM platforms like Wiz, configure policies and remediate findings.
• Interpret Wiz findings and translate issues into remediation plans.
• Lead security incident investigation and response with IS operations.
• Perform security reviews and architecture assessments of cloud solutions.
• Track HIPAA, GDPR, Texas DIR compliance and coordinate with Compliance.
• Develop security KPIs and executive reporting; mentor teams.
