Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Cloud Security Architect to design, implement, and operationalize security controls across Azure, AWS, and GCP. The role ensures secure, compliant cloud deployments aligned with institutional policies and regulatory standards.

The incumbent will lead initiatives to strengthen cloud security posture, mentoring teams and coordinating with leadership. Hybrid role requiring weekly in-office presence within the DFW area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 5 years designing, securing, and implementing cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• 2 years in an architect role managing large cloud environments.
• CISSP within 1 year or cloud security certification such as CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer on hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure cloud architecture standards for Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams for secure design and implementation.
• Integrate security into solution architectures and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Lead cloud security policy development, standards, and enforcement.
• Evaluate cloud-native and third-party security tools (CSPM, CNAPP, CASB, IAM).
• Mentor teams and participate in enterprise security architecture reviews.
