Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a seasoned Cloud/DevOps Engineer to build and maintain scalable systems across cloud and on-prem environments. You will implement new cloud functionality, migrate processes to the cloud, and maintain them with CI/CD and IaC practices.

The role is hybrid-eligible, with a pay range reflecting senior infrastructure responsibilities and Stanford’s compensation framework. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver high-performance, cost-efficient

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Experience with cloud infrastructure in native or hybrid environments.
SSO (SAML/OpenID) knowledge is a plus.
Experience with AWS SQS, API Gateway, OAuth 2.0 & RESTful APIs.
Oracle OCI experience and certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Build and manage IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services in cloud/hybrid environments with optimization for performance, cost, and security.
Develop automation scripts (Python) and IaC templates to provision AWS and Oracle OCI resources with Terraform.
Engineer processes across servers, apps, and databases and monitor to handle traffic spikes.
Own infrastructure design, backup/recovery, and health monitoring.
Develop connectivity between campus infrastructure for data availability.
Collaborate with development and infra teams to optimize cloud solutions for performance and cost.
Ensure application and system monitoring, root-cause analysis, and timely issue resolution.
Implement best practices for IaaS and PaaS lifecycle.
