Stanford University is seeking a Hosting Services Operations Engineer to support on-premise and cloud infrastructure across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, plus hands-on data center work in Stanford’s enterprise and research facilities. The role blends cloud operations, FinOps, and hardware support in a large research environment.

You will help manage cloud accounts, implement guardrails, monitor usage, and assist with budgeting and reporting while maintaining physical infrastructure in data

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
Experience with multiple operating systems and managing an integrated computing environment.
Knowledge of cloud and private cloud environments, and data center operations.

Responsibilities

Build, install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and workstation environments.
Monitor resource usage and optimize system performance and security.
Assist with cloud account management, guardrails, and FinOps practices.
Support data center hardware racks, cabling, power, and environmental needs.
