Job summary

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking an onsite Cloud Engineer to support the configuration and operation of UCSF cloud infrastructure services in San Francisco, two days per week. This role emphasizes collaboration with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable cloud services and reliable IT operations.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms, IaC tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
3+ years in IT, CS, or engineering with a focus on platform engineering and cloud services.
Experience migrating on-prem workloads to cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and apps (GitHub Actions or similar).
Experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and cloud automation.
Strong API knowledge and cloud data provider integrations; Kubernetes experience.
Ability to adapt solutions to user needs and manage cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Support configuration and operation of UCSF cloud infrastructure services.
Automate cloud infrastructure maintenance and development of monitoring capabilities.
Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver cloud services.
