Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Solution Architect to lead the transformation of its Employee Benefits technology ecosystem. This role will define target-state architectures to modernize legacy platforms, accelerate cloud adoption, and enable an AI-ready, agent-enabled environment.

We value agile, experimental mindsets and cloud-first approaches across AI, microservices, and digital‑first architectures. Hybrid work is offered with in-office 3 days a week in Columbus, Chicago, Hartford, or Charlotte.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in solution architecture or senior engineering in large enterprises.
• Cloud-native designs with AWS/GCP; API integration patterns.
• GenAI/ML in production; agentic architectures and LLMs.
• Identity security standards and modern auth.
• SPA experience with Angular/React; REST/JSON basics.

Responsibilities

• Establish and drive end-to-end solution designs aligned to strategy and AI.
• Translate strategy into APIs, microservices, SPA and cloud infra.
• Produce option analyses balancing security, cost, and reliability.
• Design modern SaaS and native cloud architectures.
• Advance identity and zero-trust patterns; ensure security alignment.
• Collaborate on roadmaps; ensure non-functional requirements are met.
