Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Solution Architect to drive the transformation of the Employee Benefits technology ecosystem. You will define target-state architectures to modernize legacy platforms, accelerate cloud adoption, and create an AI-ready ecosystem.

This hybrid role requires collaboration with senior leaders, design of APIs, microservices, and SPAs, and leadership to implement scalable, secure solutions across multiple cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in solution architecture within a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Experience designing cloud-native solutions (AWS/GCP), APIs and integration patterns including microservices and event-driven and RESTful architectures.
• Hands-on GenAI/ML in production contexts; familiarity with agentic architectures, RAG, semantic search, embedding models and LLMs.
• Expertise with digital identity/CIAM and modern authentication (OIDC/OAuth2).
• Experience building single-page applications with frameworks like Angular or React.
• Cloud/hybrid cloud deployment architectures and container orchestration understanding.
• Strong communication, leadership, and ability to mentor engineers across a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Establish and drive solution designs aligned to reference architectures, focusing on AI and strategic thinking.
• Translate strategy into end-to-end designs spanning APIs, microservices, micro-frontends, and cloud infrastructure.
• Produce option analyses and decision records balancing security, reliability, cost, and complexity.
• Design solutions leveraging SaaS and native cloud architectures; modernize assets.
• Advance digital identity and zero-trust patterns across experiences with security standards.
• Collaborate with value streams on roadmaps and program increments; ensure non-functional requirements are met.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for practical improvements; ensure governance alignment.
