Job summary

Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers in Concord, NC is seeking a Hybrid Clinical Assistant to support patient care in the clinic, blending clinical and clerical duties. You will document in the EHR and assist with scheduling and follow-ups throughout the patient visit cycle.

Under supervision, you will coordinate with providers, protect patient confidentiality, and help with referrals, lab results, and education.

Qualifications

• Professional, patient-centered interaction with patients.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and complete tasks accurately.
• 1 year of related work preferred; health care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical office protocols and terminology.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Spanish preferred.
• Travel to all APHS locations as required.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Certification: Current Medical Assistant Certification; CPR/BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient’s EHR.
• Fulfill clerical responsibilities: lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, and referrals; verify demographics.
• Call patients with abnormal and normal lab results after provider review.
• Assist with SDOH coordination during check-in.
• Schedule and track patient referrals and hospital visits.
• Care for patient confidentiality and protect PHI.
• Assist providers with communicating medications, symptoms, referrals, and appointments.
• Ensure culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
• Assist in telephone follow-up with patients as directed by the provider.
