Job summary

Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers seeks a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant I to join the Clinical department. Under supervision, you will support patient care from arrival through departure, with both clinical and clerical responsibilities.

You will document clinical and demographic data in the electronic health record and assist providers during procedures, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must communicate in English clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• New graduate or less than one year of experience.
• Knowledge of medical office protocols and basic computer skills.
• Preferred: bilingual abilities.
• Certification within 90 days of hire; CPR and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill patient care responsibilities to all patient populations as assigned; manage patient flow and exam room prep.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient's EHR with established procedures.
• Assist in telephone follow-up with patients as directed by the provider or DOCS.
• Assist with patient health education and follow-up on care plans under supervision.
• Complete clinic maintenance tasks: set up instruments, run tests, clean rooms, document tasks.
• Fulfill clerical duties: obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals; verify insurance and demographics.
• Assist provider with procedures and document results of procedures.
• Inventory supplies and ensure order receipt; keep supplies stocked.
• Keep equipment operating: troubleshoot, perform maintenance, arrange repairs.
• Maintain a safe, confidential, patient-centered environment with policy adherence.
• Protect patient confidentiality and PHI securely.
• Attend mandatory in-services; participate in trainings for professional development.
• Adhere to infection control guidelines; participate in translation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
