Job summary

Cabarrus-Rowan Community Health Center is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant I to support the clinic under the supervision of the DOCS and assigned provider. The CMA/RMA will assist with clinical and clerical tasks, capture and document patient information in the electronic health record, and help guide patients through the appointment process.

Responsibilities include obtaining health histories and vital signs, assisting with procedures, maintaining supplies, and performing tasks

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English accurately and concisely both verbally and in writing.
• Interacts in a professional, patient-centered manner with patients.
• Plan, prioritize and complete tasks with accuracy under time constraints.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office protocols.
• Familiarity with basic computer operations.
• New graduate or less than one year of experience.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill patient care responsibilities to all patient populations, including pediatrics, managing patient flow and greeting/escorting to exam rooms.
• Obtain comprehensive health history and vital signs to prepare for the provider encounter.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient’s EHR under established procedures.
• Assist in telephone follow-up with patients as directed by the provider or DOCS.
• Support health education and follow-up on care plans under supervision.
• Complete clinic maintenance tasks: setup instruments, run tests, and clean rooms per protocol.
• Handle clerical duties: obtain lab/X-ray reports, insurance verification, and demographics.
• Assist in procedures and document results; keep supplies stocked and equipment operating.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and participate in trainings and infection control.
• Translation services may be requested; perform other duties as assigned.
