Job summary

Union College's UCALL is seeking a student classroom tech/troubleshooter to support hybrid classes (in-person + Zoom) and help manage our social media presence. This Work-Study eligible role runs about 7 hours per week for 5 weeks per term in Schenectady, NY, with morning or afternoon shifts and a pay rate of $9.70 per hour.

As our go-to AV helper, you'll set up projectors and mics, host Zoom sessions, monitor chat, assist attendees, and post class updates to Facebook. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Zoom mastery for hosting/moderating Zoom sessions.
• Experience with HDMI/USB-C laptop hookups, projector/AV settings.
• Basic Facebook posting and engagement for social media.
• Canva for simple social media graphics.
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable assisting retirees; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Get Things Running: arrive 15 minutes early to turn on AV, set up projector/mics, and start Zoom.
• Run the Zoom & Chat: host the 2-hour class, monitor chat, assist online attendees.
• On-the-Spot Tech Help: fix glitches and answer basic tech questions.
• Manage the Facebook Page: post photos, event updates, and reminders.
