Job summary

Hastings Insurance is seeking a Claim Technician to join our Claims team. This role provides essential administrative and customer service support to ensure claims are processed accurately and timely, including setting up new claims and handling documentation.

Based at our Hastings, Michigan headquarters, this full-time hourly position offers a hybrid schedule: onsite every other Wednesday with remaining time remote, and occasional on-site needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to learn new software and administrative processes.

Responsibilities

• Establish new claims and claim exposures in the claims management system.
• Respond to inquiries from policyholders, agents, and service providers with courteous, timely service.
• Process, organize, and index incoming mail, emails, faxes, and other claim-related documents.
• Maintain accurate electronic claim records accessible to claim professionals.
• Provide administrative support to claim adjusters and the Claims Division.
• Prioritize daily assignments and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with teammates to support claim processing during busy periods.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
