Job summary

Hastings Insurance is seeking a Claim Technician to provide essential administrative and customer-service support to the Claims team. You will set up new claims, process incoming documentation, respond to inquiries from policyholders and agents, and support claim professionals with daily activities.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement at the Hastings, Michigan headquarters, with on-site requirements and remote work on other days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; professional phone etiquette.
• Strong attention to detail in data entry.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team player with collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Establish new claims and exposures in the claim management system.
• Answer calls from policyholders, agents, service providers, and others with courteous service.
• Process and organize incoming mail, emails, faxes, and documentation for timely handling.
• Maintain accurate electronic claim records and documentation for claim professionals.
• Provide administrative support to claim adjusters and the Claims Division.
• Prioritize daily tasks and manage competing responsibilities to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with team members to support claim processing during high volume periods.
• Participate in ongoing training to strengthen technical knowledge.
