Job summary

Amerisure is hiring a Claims Adjuster Associate to support the claims department. This hybrid role requires two days in the office and involves assisting adjusters across the claim lifecycle, handling inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent, 1 year in insurance or customer service, and strong Microsoft Office skills. Licensing and claims software familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year of experience in insurance, claims, or customer service is preferred.
• Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with claims management software preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships within the department and with external customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries from policyholders, claimants, injured workers, and other stakeholders regarding claim status and bills.
• Obtain and verify information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and vendors to support accurate claim processing.
• Assist with claim documentation by preparing and submitting state filings and closing documents.
• Draft and distribute correspondence to policyholders, claimants, injured workers, or agents.
• Maintain accurate claim records in the claims management system.
• Coordinate external vendors by engaging appraisers, attorneys, and contractors to support the claims process.
• Process payments and invoices by reviewing and issuing payments per policy and adjuster direction.
