AMOpportunities in Chicago (River North) seeks an Accounting Manager to own reporting, controls, and financial operations as the company scales. This hands‑on role centers on trusted numbers for the board and lenders, building infrastructure and AI‑enabled processes to run finance faster and more accurately.

Reporting to the VP Finance, you will drive month‑end close, external audits, and scalable reporting while developing a team as the function grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 4–7 years progressive accounting/finance experience including month-end close.
• Experience owning or supporting external audits and year-end financial statements.
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders (board, lenders, investors).
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial controls.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and large data handling.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (Xero/QBO/NetSuite).
• Trust‑but‑verify mindset; proactive risk surfacing.
• Excellent written and oral communication with finance/non‑finance.
• Comfort with AI tools and automation to streamline processes.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close end‑to‑end with accurate records.
• Manage accounts receivable/payable, cash management, and reconciliations.
• Oversee external audits and prepare year‑end financial statements.
• Prepare board and lender reporting; ensure covenant compliance.
• Build scalable, well‑documented reporting processes.
• Develop and document finance infrastructure and controls.
