Job summary

AMOpportunities is seeking an Accounting Manager to own reporting, controls, and financial operations as the company scales. You’ll run month-end close, manage cash flow, and lead external audits, with autonomy to raise the bar on how finance operates.

This role collaborates with auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and cross-functional partners and may build a team as the function grows. You will be local to Chicago and expected to come into the River North office 1–2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 4–7 years of progressive experience.
• Experience owning external audits and year-end financial statements.
• Ability to prepare reporting for board, lenders, investors, or executives.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls framework.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with large datasets.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite).

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close process end to end with accurate records.
• Manage external audit readiness and year-end financial statements.
• Own external lender reporting and covenant calculations.
• Build scalable, well-documented reporting as the business grows.
• Develop AI-enabled processes to improve efficiency and controls.
