Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking a dedicated career counselor to manage a caseload of participants, provide counseling and mentoring, and help job seekers advance toward self-sufficiency within the program.

You will assess competencies, work history, education, and barriers; create employment plans; connect participants to training and job opportunities; coordinate with partners; and maintain accurate records to track progress and outcomes across centers.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.
• One to three years’ experience in workforce development or related programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and mentoring to participants.
• Develop individualized employment plans for short- and long-term goals.
• Assist with job search, education, and job readiness activities.
• Maintain participant files and records in electronic and paper form to reflect program history.
