Job summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a Facilities Planning professional to lead space management efforts, analyze space utilization, and maintain the space database. You’ll coordinate with GIS/CAD teams and support institutional planning initiatives.

Responsibilities include annual surveys, reporting for state and federal metrics, and collaboration on space policy with senior leadership. This role offers a hybrid schedule and contributes to UVM’s space management strategy.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated planning, collaboration, analytical, communication (written and verbal) skills required.
• Experience with space tracking software (Planon, Attain) required.
• Proficiency in Excel required.
• Experience with GIS and CAD preferred.
• Proven ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently.
• Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, and team building skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of community members with a proven track record in workplace diversity and inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
• Ability to deliver exceptional value and customer service to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of an educational or municipal setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate space tracking, analysis, and processing of space requests and releases.
• Serve as a member of the Space Allocation Advisory Committee to facilitate space reallocation and related policies.
• Manage the University space and landholdings database with GIS/CAD coordination for accuracy.
• Oversee annual space survey, training setup, surveyor identification, and data collection.
• Prepare institutional, state, and federal space reporting and supporting documentation.
• Support feasibility studies, facility acquisitions/dispositions, and land-use planning initiatives.
• Review project requests for space alignment with guidelines and coordinate with planners on permitting.
