University of Vermont in Burlington seeks a Campus Space Planner to lead the development, management, and implementation of the university's space management procedures. Provides leadership in the development, management, and implementation of the University's Operating Procedures (UOP) for space management. Responsibilities include tracking, analyzing, and processing space requests and releases. Serve as a member of the Space Allocation Advisory Committee to facilitate space reallocation, related policy and/or procedures, and other space management-related recommendations to the Provost, the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, PDC Associate Director of Planning, PDC Director, Executive Director of Facilities Management, and other senior leadership as requested. Management of the University's space and landholdings database in coordination with the GIS/CAD Specialist to ensure accuracy of the space data, associated building diagrams, and landholdings data. Coordination of the annual space survey, including training manual modifications, training set-up, surveyor identification, and assistance to surveyors during survey cycle. Prepares required institutional, state, and federal space reporting, including IBB facilities reporting, the UVM Sourcebook, State PILOT, the National Science Foundation Survey of Facilities in the Sciences and Engineering, and documentation supporting Facilities and Administrative (F&A) rate negotiations. Provides expertise for campus-wide and project-specific planning initiatives, including but not limited to feasibility studies, facility acquisition and disposition reviews, and land-use planning. Reviews all project requests to confirm space allocation and ensure alignment with UVM's space management UOP, space guidelines, and coordinates with Planners regarding any local and/or state permitting. This position reports to the Associate Director of Planning in PDC.
Knowledge of an educational or municipal setting is desirable.
