Job summary

Sargent Lundy is seeking a CAD-focused engineer to develop 3D models and 2D drawings of steel structures and concrete foundations. The role supports multi-disciplinary teams and requires collaboration with mechanical and electrical designers to resolve clashes in the 3D model.

You will work in a hybrid environment with on-site client visits as needed, utilizing a range of CAD tools to deliver precise designs for power, mining, oil & gas, and renewables sectors.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in CAD Technology preferred
• CAD certificate required if non-degreed
• Previous relevant experience required
• Proficiency in major CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Tekla, Revit, SmartPlant 3D)
• Knowledge of ACI for foundation design
• Knowledge of AISC for steel design
• Knowledge of OSHA
• Attention to detail
• Time management
• Flexibility

Responsibilities

• Independently produce structural drawings on-time and within budget, maintaining quality and accountability
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical designers to resolve clashes within the 3D model
• Travel to client facilities may be necessary to verify on-site physical design conditions
