Job summary

Honeywell seeks an Application Engineer II in Plymouth, MA, on a hybrid schedule, to provide advanced technical support and guidance for Alerton building automation systems. You’ll work with dealers, customers, and cross‑functional teams to diagnose issues, configure systems, and improve deployments and upgrades.

You will manage multiple cases, escalate when needed, and convert field experience into reusable knowledge, training, and product feedback for improved customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in building automation, HVAC controls, or related technical support.
• 2+ years with Alerton Compass or comparable building automation platform.
• 2+ years of HVAC fundamentals, control sequences, sensors and actuators.
• 2+ years of BACnet and IP networking, including VPN, DNS, DHCP, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose building automation issues using system architecture, Compass databases, controller configuration, software versions, logs, alarms, trends, network behavior, drawings, specifications, wiring information, and customer observations.
• Provide application guidance for Alerton Compass installation, upgrades, database merging, controls programming, system configuration, graphics, schedules, trends, alarms, controllers, and product compatibility.
• Troubleshoot BACnet and IP network communication, including addressing, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing, VPN connectivity, DNS, DHCP, and common controller-to-server issues.
• Review controls applications, HVAC sequences, device selection, points, integrations, controller capacity, system diagrams, shop drawings, and specifications to identify risks.
• Reproduce and document suspected product issues with full environment, version, configuration, expected vs observed behavior, evidence, and business impact.
