Job summary

Patient Funding Alternatives seeks a Patient Advocate Specialist to educate and enroll Medicaid-eligible patients into HIPP, working on-site at MercyOne Children’s Hospital 2-3 days a week. You will engage with families, manage referrals, and coordinate documentation to move applications forward.

This role emphasizes advocacy, perseverance, and empathy, with a metrics-driven environment and weekly activity targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Full bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
• 2+ years in patient- or customer-facing roles with measurable outcomes.
• Able to work independently on-site with limited supervision.
• CRM or case-management experience; comfortable with Apple devices.

Responsibilities

• Engage and advocate for eligible patients and families from referrals and daily census.
• Explain HIPP clearly and compassionately, adapting to each situation.
• Address hesitancy and questions without pressuring families.
• Gather authorizations and documentation to move applications forward.
• Build trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Own caseload from first contact to enrollment.
