Violence Intervention Program, Inc. (VIP) seeks a Bilingual Housing Specialist for its Bronx Community Program. The role provides long-term housing and supportive services, including case management, workshops, benefits coordination, and leadership development.

The goal is economic self-sufficiency for participants. Responsibilities include intake assessments, safety planning, referrals, and collaboration with other providers.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required, verbal and written.
• 2–3 years of experience in housing, preferred.
• Must have advocacy or counseling experience in DV/women/children.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to document thoroughly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments and telephone screenings to identify needs.
• Provide information, referrals, advocacy and housing-related support.
• Assess safety and create safety plans; collaborate with staff and partners.
• Attend meetings; perform outreach, workshops and community events.
• Document data accurately and maintain client confidentiality.
