Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking a Business Intelligence Data Scientist for a Kansas-based hybrid role. You will analyze complex datasets, build predictive and prescriptive models, and translate findings into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

This position collaborates with finance, actuarial/underwriting, marketing, data warehouse, IT, health analytics, and HR to deliver data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist, or in a related role.
• Experience with healthcare delivery systems and the health insurance industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex data sets from multiple sources to identify trends and correlations, then convert results into actionable recommendations.
• Develop, test, deploy, and evaluate predictive and prescriptive models and scenario forecasting using machine learning and statistical methods.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards that communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data-driven solutions and document data sources, preparation processes, models, dashboards, and BI activities.
