Job summary

MTA Construction & Development is seeking an Assistant Engineer Level 1 to assist in designing, developing, implementing, and analyzing technical systems for the agency. You will support senior engineers, perform routine tasks, and learn through on‑the‑job training on capital projects.

Eligible for telework (1 day/week); location is listed as various work sites with standard 9:00 AM–5:30 PM hours and a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• Minimum 18 months as Engineer Trainee.
• Successful completion of the F.E. exam.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist under a Manager or Engineer in design and analysis tasks.
• Perform elementary engineering work for scope development and design.
• Support capital projects with project controls and reporting.
• Participate in site visits and fieldwork at facilities and sites.
• Gain training in engineering, construction, and capital project support.
