Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to support planning, execution, and oversight of testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects. You will work with the Commissioning Manager and SMEs to ensure systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to safety standards and industry best practices.

This hybrid role requires onsite presence at job sites with some remote work; travel to projects is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning on utility scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems including inverters and transformers.
• Experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry safety protocols, NFPA/NEC and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager on the status of each project assigned.
• Review requirements and assist with development of milestone schedule, commissioning plan and procedures.
• Communicate with OEM suppliers regarding equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA to align all commissioning activities.
• Develop and maintain integrated P6 testing/commissioning schedules with weekly updates.
• Develop the commissioning resource plan for the project.
• Review energization procedures and assist with switching activities; develop LOTO plans.
• Identify corrective actions to resolve issues discovered during commissioning.
• Prepare detailed daily commissioning reports and track lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations; on-site throughout testing.
• Travel as required; on-site at multiple project locations.
