Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects across multiple sites. You will work with the Commissioning Manager and SMEs to ensure installations meet project requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices, guiding teams through successful handover.

The role requires on-site presence with partial remote work, strong collaboration across engineering, construction, and QA, and a focus on delivering reliable

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers.
• Experience managing project teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and on-site presence throughout testing.
• Familiarity with NFPA/NEC, IEEE/IES standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager, the status of each project assigned.
• Review technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements related to commissioning and assist with development of project milestones, plans, and procedures.
• Communicate with OEM suppliers regarding equipment-specific testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams to ensure alignment in commissioning activities.
• Develop integrated P6 testing and commissioning schedules and keep them updated weekly.
• Develop the commissioning resource plan for the project.
• Review energization procedures and assist with switching activities as requested.
• Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions for issues arising during commissioning.
• Support development of standards and processes to improve business.
• Manage all pre-commissioning, cold, warm, and hot commissioning tests across BESS, HV or PV systems.
• Prepare and maintain lessons learned and equipment warranty tracking logs.
