Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage institutional disbursement cycles, including checks, ACH, and wire payments. The role requires independence within regulatory guidelines and collaboration across departments on disbursement processes.

The hybrid position is based in the Twin Cities campus with a 40-hour work week, typically Monday–Friday, and some travel for events. Applicants should be prepared to relocate to Minnesota if outside the state.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional experience in accounting and accounts payable operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace.
• Advanced analytical capabilities and strategic problem-solving aptitude.
• Experience providing customer service.

Responsibilities

• Manage institutional disbursement cycles, including Check and ACH disbursements, within set processing windows.
• Oversee Wire Payment Management and related banking system entries.
• Administer AP tasks such as tax payments, V-Card payments, and sponsor deposits.
• Coordinate with departments on data integrity, journal entries, and payment revocations.
