Job summary

Workforce is seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist on a contract basis in Richmond, VA to support the accounting team. Candidates with AP/AR, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience are encouraged to apply, including those early in their accounting career.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, vendor payments, customer payments, account reconciliations, and month-end tasks using Excel and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general accounting.
• Experience with invoice processing, payment posting, reconciliation and financial recordkeeping.
• QuickBooks experience is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices, vendor payments, and payment requests.
• Manage accounts receivable, customer payments, and account balances.
• Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding/documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts.
• Enter financial information into accounting systems accurately.
• Assist with month-end accounting activities and reconciliations.
• Maintain organized accounting files and financial documentation.
• Prepare reports using Excel and accounting software.
• Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal departments on payment status.
