Job summary

College of Staten Island (CSI), part of the City University of New York, seeks a Special Programs Admissions Advisor to guide new students through the enrollment process. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Two years’ related experience in higher education preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings/weekends.
• Driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Serves as a primary contact and enrollment advisor for new students, including Reconnect students, providing guidance and support throughout the enrollment process.
• Conducts outreach to community-based organizations and prospective students to support recruitment efforts, develop community connections, and follow up with prospective applicants regarding enrollment opportunities.
• Attend and participate in off-campus recruitment events (ex., college fairs, presentations and school visits) at high schools, colleges, community-based organizations and other locations for undergraduate admissions; must be available for a varied schedule including day, evening, and weekend events; occasional travel.
• Assists in conducting open houses and information sessions, including group sessions and programs for prospective adult students, giving campus tours, virtual presentations and other admissions events.
• Assists in planning and conducting adult orientations, new and continuing student engagement activities.
• Supports office processes, procedures and general clerical duties such as front desk and virtual office coverage, data entry, recruitment calendar, inventory and application processing.
