Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist in Howard County for a hybrid role. You will handle full-cycle AP, code invoices, match PO/receiving docs, process payments, reconcile statements, and assist with month-end close and audits.

Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel is essential, along with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to support a fast-paced accounting team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.
• ERP system experience required.
• Experience processing high-volume invoices in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice matching, and payment processing.
• Experience reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle AP from invoice receipt to payment.
• Code and enter vendor invoices accurately.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving docs.
• Process weekly ACH, wire, and check payments.
• Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors on payment status.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research items.
• Support month-end close and AP accruals.
• Ensure compliance with policies and workflows.
• Assist with audits and AP reporting.
• Identify AP process improvements.
