Job summary

SJRC Texas is seeking an Accounts Payable Accounting Clerk for a hybrid schedule in Bandera, TX. The role handles vendor invoices, payment runs, reconciliations, and record maintenance, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

A high school diploma and 1–3 years AP experience are preferred, along with Excel and ERP familiarity. Primary duties include month-end/year-end closings support, mail handling, fuel card management, and document scanning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; accounting coursework or an associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounts payable or related administrative experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

• Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and required approvals.
• Receive, review, code, and process vendor invoices for payment.
• Verify invoices against receiving documents and applicable approvals.
• Enter accounts payable transactions accurately into the accounting system.
• Prepare and process weekly or scheduled payment runs, including checks, ACH, and electronic payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies or outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including payment information and tax documentation.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile accounts payable subledger balances to the general ledger.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records.
• Assist with expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
• Protect confidential financial and vendor information.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
• Check and process mail from all SJRC locations.
• Maintain the organization’s fuel cards program. Set up new cards, PINs, process invoices, apply department expense allocation.
• Scan documents into SharePoint for document retention and transition files to storage.
• Assist with other reports, projects, and tracking as needed.
