Job summary

Simmons University in Boston seeks an Academic Advisor & Student Data Specialist to support Pre-licensure Nursing advising and data operations within the School of Nursing & Physical Therapy.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Advising & Data Analytics, the Advisor tracks progress, maintains data systems, and advises students on course registration, progression, and policies to foster success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in academic advising or roles with high student contact.
• Experience with data entry/management and databases.
• Strong relationship-building and coaching abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and presentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and track student enrollment data and manage databases.
• Advise students on policies, requirements, and program details.
• Track progress and report to nursing program teams.
• Participate in department meetings and student outreach.
• Coordinate referrals with student support offices as needed.
• Document advisement meetings in Starfish and other systems.
