Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Cook in our Hy-Chi kitchen. You will prepare a variety of hot and cold foods, using authentic techniques, and keep the hot and cold cases stocked with freshly made items throughout the day.

No prior experience is required; training is provided. You will deliver friendly service, follow recipes, maintain food safety, and assist with ordering and cleaning duties in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or welcomed.
• Willingness to learn Hy-Chi procedures and food safety standards.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold foods using authentic cooking techniques.
• Cook soups and meats, prepare vegetables and sauces with spices.
• Place food in hot/cold cases and refill as needed throughout the shift.
• Assist customers at the Hy-Chi counter and take orders when needed.
• Clean work area and adhere to hygiene standards and dress code.
