Job summary

America Works of Illinois, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Representative (Case Manager) in Chicago to provide case management and job placement services for veterans experiencing homelessness.

The role operates on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule and a salary of $55,000 per year. You will conduct intake, develop individualized employment plans, and coordinate resources to help participants achieve stable employment and housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1–3 years in workforce development or social services.
• Experience serving veterans and/or homeless populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, eligibility screening, and job readiness assessments with veterans.
• Develop individualized plans to help veterans become job-ready, including resume prep and mock interviews.
• Oversee barrier removal before/after placement, ensuring housing, clothing, healthcare, and childcare resources.
• Meet with participants in-person or remotely to track progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with the job developer to place veterans with employer partners.
• Maintain case notes, attendance logs, weekly reports, and other tasks.
• Meet enrollment and placement targets weekly, quarterly, and annually.
• Network with service providers to generate referrals and present services.
• Promote professionalism and create an inclusive environment for career development.

Job Title: Corporate Representative

Location: Chicago, IL

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (On-Site)

Salary: $55,000 annually

Purpose: America Works of Illinois, Inc., a socially conscious company, is seeking a Corporate Representative (Case Manager) for an employment services program (Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program) providing case management and job placement services to veterans of the U.S. Military experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, eligibility screening, and job readiness assessments with veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability
• Develop individualized plans to help veterans become job-ready, including resume preparation, mock interviewing, and barrier removal
• Oversee barrier removal before and after job placement, ensuring the participant has the resources and support they need to obtain and retain employment (i.e. housing, clothing, healthcare, childcare, etc.)
• Regularly meet with participants in-person or over phone/video to ensure program participants are continually progressing towards their professional, personal, and academic goals
• Work closely with the job developer to place veterans in open opportunities with employer partners
• Maintain detailed case notes, update attendance logs, submit weekly reports, and other administrative tasks on a timely basis
• Meet weekly, quarterly, and annual enrollment and job placement numbers
• Conduct outreach to service providers and foster relationships that lead to referrals for America Works, including by attending meetings and giving presentations about the services offered by America Works
• Model professionalism and inclusiveness, cultivate a safe environment for career development, and motivated clients to find full-time employment

Desired Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-year degree, relevant experience and/or advanced studies a plus
• One to three (1-3) years of experience working with individuals in a workforce development, social services, or community-based context
• Experience developing individualized service and/or employment plans for participants preferred
• Experience working with military veterans and/or individuals experiencing homelessness
• Understanding of workforce development, employment services, and case management a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferred
• Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills
• Experience and/or passion for serving individuals from disadvantaged and underserved populations, including but not limited to public assistance recipients, justice-involved individuals, persons with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessness
