Job summary

RMS Energy seeks a Power System Studies Engineer focused on HVDC and FACTS to lead complex transmission planning and grid modernization studies. You will mentor engineers, support business development, and ensure project excellence across EMT simulations, grid integration analyses, and technical writing in English.

The role sits within the T&D Engineering and Consulting Division, offering full benefits and opportunities for growth as you deliver reliable, compliant study results across the U.S.

Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years of experience in power system modeling or related field.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools and power system modeling software.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex power system studies including HVDC/FACTS, EMT, transient stability, power quality, harmonics, and grid integration studies.
  • Support design, integration, and performance of HVDC, FACTS, and inverter-based resources.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate on technical and commercial study requirements.
  • Coordinate project setup, tracking hours and budgets with leadership.
  • Lead meetings with prepared materials to address study progress and issues.
