Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a Senior Expert RTDS to develop real-time digital simulation models for HVDC and grid studies, and to validate complex RTDS models addressing modern power systems with high power electronics integration.

You will oversee modeling engagements, coordinate with engineers and subcontractors, and present findings to clients and regulatory authorities while mentoring junior staff. Travel ~10% likely.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in real-time digital simulation and power system modeling, HVDC focus.
• Expertise with RTDS hardware/software, RSCAD, and HIL testing.
• Experience with VSC-HVDC, converter control and grid codes.
• Strong consulting and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and validation of RTDS models for HVDC and grid studies.
• Create RTDS models for power electronics devices, HVDC converters, renewable generation, and storage integration.
• Lead analyses of electromagnetic transients, converter interactions, harmonic phenomena, and protection behavior.
• Manage RTDS consulting engagements from initiation to completion with engineers and sub-contractors.
• Identify RTDS market opportunities and develop technical proposals and execution teams.
• Present RTDS results to clients, stakeholders, and regulators; mentor junior team members.
