Job summary

The position involves on-site work in school facilities, potential evening or night shifts, and adherence to local, state, and national codes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Two (2) years of HVACR experience at the apprentice II level or equivalent.
• EPA-approved universal refrigerant recovery certification (types I, II, III).
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license with good driving record.
• May require evening/night shifts, overtime, or emergency call-out status.
• Knowledge of HVACR maintenance, codes, hazards, and basic computer programs.
• Ability to read instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Ability to estimate time and material needs and determine economic practicality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair domestic and commercial HVACR equipment and DDC systems.
• Repair and maintain heating equipment and hot water/steam systems.
• Adhere to mechanical and pressure vessel codes.
• Identify causes of failure via testing of components and software.
• Repair or replace controls and safety devices as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal start-up/shut-down procedures.
• Work on-site or in a shop and document work performed and materials used.
• Possibly operate a vehicle to transport tools and materials.
