Airtron Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking a Residential HVACR Diagnostics & Maintenance Technician to service home heating and cooling systems. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure customer comfort while coordinating with the Service Supervisor and Operations team.

The role emphasizes safe, high-quality workmanship, clear communication with customers, and meticulous documentation on a tablet or computer. This is a full-time on-site position in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year HVAC service experience.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Soldering and brazing capability.
  • Clear and effective English communication, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy; comfortable with tablets/laptops; Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain residential heating and air systems to keep homes comfortable year-round.
  • Inspect ducting; ensure equipment stays safe and serviceable.
  • Diagnose faults, propose solutions, and perform repairs for optimal operation.
  • Explain services and repairs clearly to customers and dispatch.
  • Coordinate daily route with the office; stage needed parts for smooth appointments.
  • Capture detailed documentation on a tablet/computer; debrief calls with dispatch and customers.

If you’re driven to serve, thrive on solving problems, and want to be part of a team that backs you up, this role is for you.Your impactAs a residential HVACR Diagnostics & Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the face of Airtron—restoring comfort, safeguarding equipment, and creating standout customer experiences while coordinating closely with a Service Supervisor and Operations team.Repair and maintain residential heating and air systems to keep families comfortable year-round.Examine ducting; ensure company equipment and materials remain in safe, serviceable condition.Identify components, complete wiring, and perform system start-ups; test and record results to verify performance.Diagnose faults, propose solutions, and execute repairs that return systems to optimal operation.Complete comprehensive inspections and promptly communicate any concerns to both dispatch and the customer.Clearly explain the services and repairs performed during each visit.Coordinate your daily route with the office; order and stage needed parts so appointments run smoothly.Transport and accurately account for assigned tools, materials, and parts.Capture neat, timely documentation on a tablet or computer; debrief every call with dispatch and the customer.Leave work areas spotless; keep your company vehicle clean and organized.Model our code of ethics and performance standards with a courteous, professional approach.Protect flooring in customer homes with shoe covers/floor savers and follow all safety procedures.Support additional tasks as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.At least 1 year of HVAC service experience.EPA Certification.Soldering and brazing capability.Effective English communication skills, written and verbal.Basic computer literacy, including internet use and Microsoft Outlook; comfortable with tablets/laptops.Valid driver's license.Flexibility for overtime with short notice and occasional weekend work.Preferred backgroundHVAC trade school completion.1–2 years of experience in construction, HVAC, or a related field.What helps you thrive hereCuriosity and a willingness to learn as part of a collaborative, supportive team.A positive, service-minded attitude and the ability to build strong relationships.Comfort working with teammates across all levels of the organization.Commitment to a strong safety culture; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.Field realitiesMost work is in occupied homes and on construction sites; minimal office time.Daily travel by vehicle to and from service locations.Exposure to construction environments: equipment, elevated areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, odors, and hazardous materials.Indoor/outdoor work in all weather conditions with appropriate PPE.Physical demandsDrive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift.Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.Routinely climb, bend at the waist, crawl, kneel, and crouch.Work at heights on ladders and stairways; at times on platforms/scaffolding using required fall protection.Wear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective vests, gloves, and safety-toe construction boots.Stand, walk, or sit for long periods.Hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds for safe equipment/phone use.Maintain close, distance, and peripheral vision with normal depth perception (with or without correction).Communicate information verbally to others.Enter data via keyboard or 10-key on a handheld device or computer.Reach overhead; signal; grasp; hold; lift; turn; push and pull tools and objects.* Physical requirements may vary by location.Core proficienciesHVACHeating and Air ConditioningEqual OpportunityAirtron is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
