Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a skilled HVAC/Telecom Technician to perform field service maintenance, remedial, and emergency repairs on telecommunication and data center HVAC equipment.

The role covers diagnosing, repairing, and installing components across commercial cooling systems, with opportunities to advance and travel as needed. Training is provided and benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with underground CEV (preferred).
• Ability to read electrical ladder schematics.
• Basic plumbing knowledge of sump pumps.
• Knowledge of pumps, dry coolers, and cooling towers.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Familiarity with HVAC codes and their application.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel M-F and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain commercial cooling systems on cell tower cooling units, diagnosing, repairing, and installing components.
• Perform maintenance or upgrades on seasonal equipment.
• Demonstrate competency in installation and diagnostics to complete services professionally.
• Replace or install forced air heating and air conditioning systems.
• Install duct systems in telecom shelters and test electrical circuits for continuity.
• Test for leaks in pipes using pressure gauges or soap solution.
• Layout and connect electrical wiring per diagrams; troubleshoot low-voltage controls.
• Travel extensively and work independently when needed.
