Job summary

Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA is seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant cooling systems and related equipment. The role requires 5+ years of HVAC experience and a high school diploma, with CMMS Maximo experience preferred.

You will coordinate tasks, track labor and materials, and respond to after-hours issues, working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure reliable lab operations.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of industrial/commercial HVAC operation and maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and related controls.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple groups to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and HVAC systems.
• Respond to moderately complex corrective maintenance tasks with repair strategies.
• Record labor, material and task status in CMMS Maximo daily.
• Coordinate tasks with lab staff and external groups to minimize lab downtime.
• Manage work orders and ensure timely completion and documentation.
• Respond to after-hours/weekend/holiday emergencies affecting mechanical systems.
