Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Technician for HVAC and mechanical systems within MCW facilities. Under supervision, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair building systems to ensure reliable operation.

Shifts available on 2nd or 3rd shift with Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday schedules; requires ability to work in a physically demanding environment and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in HVAC or building maintenance.
• Under supervision, perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Willing to obtain State and Federal Refrigerant License and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist or independently perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and/or repair multiple building systems.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment and report malfunctions.
• Repair and/or replacement of components such as motors, pumps, seals, bearings, and pneumatic devices.
• Assist with small projects like piping work for fume hoods and shutdowns for maintenance.
• Prepare systems for contractor work and monitor during contractor activity.
