Job summary

CU Boulder’s Facilities Management team is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to work on installation, repair and maintenance of campus HVAC and BAS systems. The role focuses on analysis, repair, and operation of HVAC equipment in academic buildings, using BAS to monitor and control systems.

The position is full-time and in-person, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. The campus offers competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in HVAC and mechanical trades; EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.
• Colorado resident with a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey level analysis and repair of HVAC systems and associated equipment (air handling units, VAV, labs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers).
• Install, troubleshoot and repair BAS/DDC field devices and related wiring; monitor system performance and alarm criteria.
• Commission, calibrate, and test temperature control components to maintain energy efficiency and performance.
• Provide project support, including reviewing drawings, attending site walks, and performing start-up and commissioning of new work.
