Job summary

University at Buffalo is seeking an HVAC-R trades specialist to support campus facilities. You will spend most of your time in the field responding to daily HVAC-R service requests and scheduled preventive maintenance of BAS and energy management equipment.

You will diagnose and repair chillers, air handlers, VAV boxes, heat pumps, humidifiers and related equipment, documenting work and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• NY State refrigeration traineeship completed.
• Two-year refrigeration repair and maintenance training completed.
• Equivalent refrigeration training or apprenticeship completed.
• Four years full-time experience in mechanical/electrical trades with 1 year in refrigeration/AC equipment.
• Valid NYS driver's license for vehicle operation.
• HVAC-R training certification and BAS experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to daily service requests and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and overhaul HVAC equipment and building systems.
• Read and understand prints and schematics.
• Coordinate with outside contractors when necessary.
• Provide high level of customer service and document work.
• Be available for after-hours calls and adverse weather as needed.
