Job summary

The Dutchman Heating & Air is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to perform residential service and repair in Franklin, TN and the Greater Nashville area. You will diagnose and fix air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and related controls while providing clear explanations to homeowners and ensuring safe operation.

This full-time role offers competitive hourly pay ($28–$38 depending on experience), performance incentives, and benefits including a 401(k) plan, health stipend, paid time

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on HVAC trade experience, with strong residential service and repair experience.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing residential HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, thermostats, controls, and electrical components.
• Ability to independently diagnose HVAC problems and recommend appropriate repair or service options.
• Ability to clearly explain technical findings and service recommendations to homeowners
• Working knowledge of HVAC safety practices, applicable codes, and field requirements.
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and required PPE
• Ability to work indoors, outdoors, on roofs, and in confined spaces or crawl spaces
• Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting up to 50–75 pounds
• Availability to work >40 hours, extended days, and weekends when required

Responsibilities

• Perform residential HVAC service and repair in Franklin, TN and throughout the Greater Nashville area.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, thermostats, controls, and related HVAC equipment.
• Inspect and test HVAC systems and components to identify issues and verify safe, proper operation.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and identify conditions that could lead to future system failures.
• Assist with residential HVAC installations and system replacements as needed.
• Conduct heat loss and heat gain calculations when needed to support proper system sizing.
• Explain system findings, repair recommendations, and equipment operation clearly to homeowners.
• Present service, repair, maintenance, and replacement options based on system condition and customer needs, without pressuring homeowners.
• Complete service reports, job documentation, and required system checks accurately.
• Verify completed repairs and installations before leaving the customer's home.
• Maintain clean job sites, protect customers' homes, and keep the company vehicle organized.
• Follow company safety procedures and service standards, and participate in required training and team meetings.

Your New Role
